The NOPD has arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the homicide of a 15-year-old juvenile in the Fourth District.

Michael Dixon (B/M DOB: 9-28-2000) was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old male in the 3900 block of Sullen Place on Saturday, August 18, 2018.

Through a follow-up investigation, homicide detectives learned the story initially told on the night of the shooting was not truthful.

Based on evidence found on scene, and on social media, investigators believe shooting occurred inside a residence – as opposed to outside – as investigators were originally lead to believe.

Dixon currently being held in the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

The investigation remains open and active. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the NOPD Homicide Unit at 504-658-5300 or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 504-822-1111 and toll-free at 1-877-903-7867.
