NOPD Investigates Homicide on Chrysler Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on Chrysler Street

NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that took place near the intersection of Chrysler Street and Prentiss Avenue.  

Today, (August 21), at around 8:26 p.m., Seventh district officers were dispatched to the location to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old male lying on the ground. The victim was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death.
