NOPD Arrests Suspect on Chef Menteur Highway for Illegal Carrying of a Weapon

The NOPD has arrested Travell Daigle (DOB: 06-09-1998) for illegal carrying of a weapon after an incident in the 7200 block of Chef Menteur Highway on August 24, 2018.

Seventh District Task Force Officers conducted a suspicious person stop in the area involving a subject later identified as Daigle. During the stop, officers noticed a distinct bulge in Daigle’s waistband during initial contact and believed the source of the bulge to be an illegally concealed firearm. A pat-down was conducted for officer safety and, during the pat-down, a fully loaded handgun was discovered concealed in Daigle’s waistband. Daigle was arrested for one count of illegal carrying of a weapon and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to call the NOPD Seventh District at 504-658-6070.
