NOPD Arrests Suspect for Attempted Burglary on Butterfield Road

The NOPD has arrested Eric Theodore Hudson Jr. (DOB: 11-17-1997) in connection with an attempted residence burglary incident in the 7800 block of Butterfield Road on August 24, 2018.

At approximately 7:11 a.m., the victim called the police to report a subject later identified as Hudson was kicking her front door, after defeating the home’s security gate. Upon realizing he had been seen by the victim, Hudson allegedly fled the location on foot. Seventh District Officers patrolled the area when officers were flagged down by the victim’s neighbor, who directed the officers to the subject. Upon the officers flanking the arrested subject and advising him to show his hands, he began to run. However, the arrested subject slipped and fell in wet grass near the intersection of Wales Street and Butterfield Road, where he was apprehended.

Hudson was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for attempt residence burglary, simple criminal damage to property and aggravated flight from an officer.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
