Suspect Wanted, Motorcycle Taken in Armed Robbery on North Claiborne

The NOPD is searching for a suspect and a 2008 Yamaha R-1 motorcycle that was taken during an armed robbery on August 26, 2017.

The victim told police he started receiving phone calls while riding his motorcycle, and decided to pull up near the CVS drug store on North Claiborne Avenue to check his phone at around 2:16 a.m. The victim stated he then exited his motorcycle due to a traffic jam near the intersection of Frenchmen Street and North Claiborne Avenue.  The victim stated while having his head down, an unknown male subject approached him.  Once he lifted his head up, he observed the subject pointing a small .38 caliber black gun at him while demanding him to walk across the street.

The victim then started walking westbound on North Claiborne Avenue. He then observed the subject taking off in his motorcycle in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as having a brown complexion, shoulder length dreads, being about 5’8” tall, weighing between 155 to 160 pounds. He is believed to be approximately between 20 to 26 years of age. He was last seen wearing an unknown color T-shirt and dark-color jeans.

The motorcycle is described as a 2008 Yamaha R-1 with a Alabama license plate number of 159931.
