Suspect Sought for Robbery at Franklin and North Claiborne

Suspect Sought for Robbery at Franklin and North Claiborne

NOPD is looking for a suspect who robbed a man after he offered to buy food for the suspect’s children.

 

The victim stated that he saw two adults and two children sitting in a car in the 400 block of Dauphine Street on August 3, 2017 between 11 p.m. and midnight. He said he thought the children looked hungry so he approached the car and offered to buy the children some food. The unknown male driver and the unknown female passenger agreed and he got into their vehicle. 

 

They went to an ATM so the victim could withdraw some cash. After the victim completed his transaction and returned to the car and they drove to an unspecified location where the driver pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s backpack and cash.  The victim complied and the suspect drove away.

 

The suspect was observed using the victim’s Louisiana Purchase Card at a business in the 1500 block of Franklin Avenue a few minutes after the robbery.
