UPDATE: NOPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Stabbing on Canal Street

UPDATE:

The NOPD Homicide Unit has identified and arrested Danny Jackson (DOB: 7-15-1961) as the perpetrator in the fatal double stabbing that occurred on Saturday, August 26, 2017. 

At about 5:35 p.m., Eighth District officers responded to a disturbance at the McDonald’s restaurant at 711 Canal Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds to the chest and face. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A second subject was located near the scene and also suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The subject was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

A review of surveillance video from the business revealed the pictured male subject chasing the victims out of the business.

Jackson is in custody and will be transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center shortly where he will be booked with second degree murder.
