The NOPD is looking to identify and locate an individual seen on surveillance video in the commission of an auto burglary in the 800 block of North Miro Street on August 13, 2017.

At about 9:11 a.m., a First District officer was flagged down by a citizen who said his vehicle had been burglarized. Detectives soon after arrived at the scene to investigate the matter, learning that the victim had parked and secured his blue Chevrolet Silverado truck in the area at around 10 a.m. on August 12 with a red and black air compressor inside the truck’s cab. The victim said that he received a telephone message on August 13 at about 8:25 a.m. from a neighbor stating that she allegedly saw two unidentified black males near the victim’s vehicle, before reportedly seeing one of the males smash the passenger window of the truck and remove the air compressor. The neighbor then said the two subjects fled the scene on foot on North Miro Street toward St. Ann Street.

One of the suspects was described as a tall, thin adult black male wearing a yellow construction vest. The second individual was described as an older dark-skinned black male with a short black Afro hairstyle.

Surveillance video of one of the suspects in this incident believed to be carrying the victim’s air compressor can be viewed at https://youtu.be/SBXNe4FDbME.
