Additional Suspects Identified in Homicide on Olive Street

NOPD Homicide detectives have identified three additional suspects wanted for their participation in the June 14, 2017 homicide of 21- year- old Brayanta Ketchens in the 7800 block of Olive Street on June 14, 2017.

At about 11:11 a.m., Second District officers responded to a complaint call of a possible forced entry into a residence in the 7800 block of Olive Street.  Officers then received a call of shots fired in the same area. Upon arrival at the residence, officers discovered an unresponsive body of a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. The victim, later identified as Ketchens, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On June 28, NOPD Violent Offender Warrant Squad officers arrested Kenneth Murdock (DOB: 1/31/1996) on a warrant for principal to second degree murder in connection with this incident.

Warrants have also been obtained for Michael Meyers (DOB: 07-14-1994), Nelson Raymond IV (DOB: 08-14-1993) and Jamaal “JD” Horton (DOB: 04-28-1993) in connection with this incident. Meyers is wanted for second degree murder, while Raymond is wanted for principle to second degree murder.

Horton is wanted for a DNA sample in relation to the incident.
