NOPD Seventh District Announces Significant Arrests Made During March 2023

Throughout the month of March 2023, the New Orleans Police Department’s Seventh District conducted several criminal investigations throughout the district.

During this time, officers secured and executed six search warrants and recovered five stolen vehicles, three of which had been stolen during the commission of carjackings.  Eleven firearms were also seized during this time, three of which were reported stolen, one having an obliterated serial number and one semi-automatic weapon which had been completely modified into a fully automatic weapon.

Officers seized approximately 1.61 pounds of marijuana, 1.42 pounds of fentanyl, 60 dosages of tapentadol, 14 dosages of ecstasy and $805.00 in U.S. currency during the month.

As a result of these investigations, a total of 15 individuals were placed under arrest and booked accordingly. Those arrested and the charges include:

  • 21-year-old Devin Jordan, arrested for illegal possession of stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm and for convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
  • 49-year-old Don Hayes Jr., arrested for illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property and for convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
  • 66-year-old Don Hayes, arrested for illegal discharge of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and for violation of a protective order.
  • 18-year-old Eric Miller, arrested for illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics and for illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • 25-year-old Diante Allen, arrested for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and for illegal possession of stolen property.
  • A 17-year-old juvenile, arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and for illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
  • 25-year-old Dejean Lindsey, arrested for illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, illegal possession of or dealing in firearms with obliterated number or mark and for violation of a protective order.
  • 29-year-old Edwin Patterson arrested for convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
  • A 17-year-old juvenile, arrested for illegal possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile and for possession of a stolen firearm.
  • 18-year-old Cassell Haley, arrested for illegal possession of stolen property.
  • 30-year-old Dalvin Robbins, arrested for two counts of illegal possession of narcotics and one count each of illegal possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and for flight from an officer in a motor vehicle.
  • 36-year-old Jermaine Mitchell, arrested for convicted felon in possession of a firearm, domestic abuse aggravated assault, staging a motor vehicle collision and for domestic abuse battery.
  • 26-year-old Dwayne Hampton, arrested for illegal possession of stolen property, reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics and for handling of machine guns.
