NOPD Searching for Suspect in Shooting in Seventh District

The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on April 2, 2023 in the Seventh District.

Around 11:28 p.m., NOPD responded to a shooting in the 6800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard.  Upon arrival they discovered a female who had been shot to her right knee and back.  She was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

Through investigation, Jahari Levy (pictured, black male DOB: 1-1-1985) was identified as the alleged perpetrator of this incident.  Investigators says Levy encountered the victim, allegedly stole her firearm, shot her several times then fled in the victim's vehicle.

The vehicle was later recovered however, Levy is still at large.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
