The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred last evening (April 2, 2023) on North Claiborne Avenue near Laharpe Street.
At about 11:46p.m. a vehicle was traveling eastbound on North Claiborne when for some unknown reason the driver left the road and crashed into a utility pole.
The driver and two passengers, a female and a male, were all transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver, an adult male was later pronounced deceased. The other two victims are reportedly in stable condition.
NOPD traffic fatality investigators are trying to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's office will identify the victim and an official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
