NOPD Announces Arrests, Weapons & Drugs Seized in Multi-Agency Investigation

The New Orleans Police Department in partnership with the Louisiana State Police, FBI, Probation and Parole conducted an investigation on April 3, 2023 into stolen vehicles which led to the arrest of 11 individuals and the confiscation of weapons and drugs.

While conducting this investigation, officers observed armed individuals exiting stolen vehicles and entering a residence within the 1900 block of Rocheblave Street.  Working with NOPD's state and federal partners, the area was surrounded, a perimeter was set, and a search warrant was secured and executed, that subsequently led to the arrest of 11 suspects. The suspects were arrested in connection with Illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of stolen vehicles and illegal possession of narcotics.

Those arrested are:

Mister Mackey, black male DOB: 10-26-2001

Jonathan Frank, black male DOB: 11-7-1983

Kemp Johnson, black male DOB: 2-22-2002

Erin Murthil, black male DOB: 9-24-2002

Nickie Whitley, black male DOB: 5-31-1988

Datayna Howard, black male DOB: 10-25-2001

Derrin Riley, black male DOB: 2-7-1995

Desmond Taylor, black male DOB: 9-26-1996

Quintrell Brown, black male DOB: 10-13-2003

Shyheem Randolph, black male DOB: 4-17-1999

Norman Andrews, black male DOB: 1-26-2000

This investigation resulted in 5 stolen vehicles recovered, 12 firearms which included a combination of modified rifles and handguns and large amounts of marijuana and cocaine. 

NOPD Superintendent Michelle Woodfork said, “As I’ve outlined in my crime plan and discussed yesterday, we are strategically deploying officers based on intelligence, data and analytics and its yielding results.  Yesterday’s operation is an example of the crime fighting strategies we have implemented. In collaboration with our federal and state partners, sharing this intelligence data and working together to solve crimes, targeting violent offenders, and getting firearms off the streets in last three days has resulted in a total of 22 weapons being seized. I would like to thank the men and women of the NOPD, all of our state and federal partners – LSP, FBI, and Probation and Parole.”
