New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with locating a subject wanted for domestic abuse aggravated assault, false imprisonment, battery, and illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.
Wanted is Jacob Joseph Steele (pictured), Black male, DOB 05/06/1987, height 6' 6", weight 295 pounds.
According to investigators, on April 21, 2024 at about 11:30 p.m. the wanted subject was inside a residence in the 5300 block of Forest Park Lane when he brandished a firearm and threatened to murder the victim. The wanted subject then kept the victim falsely imprisoned for a period of several hours and battered them before the victim was able to escape and notify police.
