NOPD Announces Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between April 10-16

Listed below are arrests or clearances by warrant obtained between April 10-16, 2022, in violent crime investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

  • On April 13, Perry Briley (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-23-1996) was arrested for second-degree murder. The incident occurred on May 13, 2021, in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Briley was originally arrested and located in the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges regarding attempted second-degree murder in this incident. However, the victim in this incident was pronounced deceased from his injuries this week and the case was reclassified as a homicide. Briley was re-booked accordingly.

Shooting

  • On April 16, NOPD Sixth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Neal (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-06-1985) for one count of second-degree aggravated battery, domestic aggravated assault, illegal use of weapons, felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of violation of protective orders. The incident occurred on April 16 at the intersection of South Liberty and Toledano Streets.   • On April 13, NOPD Sixth District detectives arrested Keymon Bush (pictured, black male, DOB: 07-11-2002) for attempted second-degree murder, attempted second-degree battery and illegal use of weapons. The incident occurred on April 13 in the 2300 block of South Galvez Street.
  • On April 12, NOPD Second District officers arrested Randell Smith (not pictured, black male, DOB: 11-30-2002) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred on April 12 in the 9000 block of Edinburgh Street.

Armed Robbery /Carjacking

  • On April 13, NOPD Third District detective obtained an arrest warrant for Isaiah Mitchell (pictured, black male, DOB: 07-08-2003) for armed robbery, illegal use of a firearm and theft. The incident occurred on March 6 in the 2400 block of Allen Toussaint Boulevard.   • On April 16, NOPD Third District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Bryan Sanford (pictured, back male, DOB: 01-16-1992) for armed robbery with use of a firearm, second-degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The incident occurred on April 15 in the 8000 block of Lakeshore Drive.   • On April 13, NOPD Eighth District and French Quarter Task Force officers arrested Christopher Harrington Jr. (pictured, white male, DOB; 09-04-1987) for armed robbery and simple criminal damage to property. The incident occurred on April 13 in the 1000 block of Canal Street.
