NOPD Announces Arrests in Multiple Homicide Investigations

The NOPD today announced the arrest of two homicide suspects on April 21, 2022 – one of which is charged in two homicide cases. Also, detectives announced a clearance of an unrelated 2017 homicide incident by warrant.

The NOPD and the Federal Consent Decree Monitors will hold a public hearing today (April 20, 2022) to discuss the department's progress to come into full compliance with the ongoing Federal Consent Decree. Superintendent Shaun Ferguson will be in attendance, as well as other NOPD and Consent Decree Monitor personnel.

NOPD to Take Part in Nationwide “Buckle Up in Your Truck” Awareness Campaign

The NOPD will be partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for the “Buckle-Up in Your Truck” campaign, which will span from April 23- April 30.
