NOPD Investigating Homicide in Third District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (April 23, 2021) in the 5700 block of Wisner Boulevard involving one victim.

At about 7:25 a.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of a person down at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying along the bank of the bayou. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Through further investigation, the subject was determined to be the victim of a homicide.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
