Suspect Arrested in Third District Business Burglary

The NOPD has arrested Kevin Burns (pictured, DOB: 05-06-1997) in the investigation of a business burglary that occurred on April 8, 2020 in the 5300 block of St. Bernard Avenue.

At about 5:08 a.m., a subject was captured on video surveillance burglarizing a church in the block, later fleeing the location after stealing a church-owned vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation, NOPD Third District detectives developed and positively identified Burns as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

Burns was located in Jefferson Parish with the stolen vehicle and was arrested. He will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for simple criminal damage to property, simple burglary of a religious building and theft of a motor vehicle.
