Suspect Arrested for Illegal Firearm Possession in Fourth District

The NOPD has arrested James Green (pictured, DOB: 01-21-1988) on April 28, 2020, after he was reportedly found to be in illegal possession of a firearm.

On the aforementioned date, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call for service of an armed black male in the area of the 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane.  The officers arrived in the area and began to search for the described individual.  When officers discovered the individual, the subject fled on foot.   After a brief foot chase, the subject – later identified as Green – was apprehended and a firearm was recovered.

Green was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a firearm, flight from an officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040.
