NOPD Investigating Homicide in the Fourth District

New Orleans - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (April 9, 2020) in the Fourth District.

At about 9:24 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting in the 1400 block of Lauradale Drive.  Upon arrival, officers found a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s).  Life saving measures were performed, however the victim succumbed to his injuries.  EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. 

The NOPD’s Homicide Unit is in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and release the official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
