New Orleans – On April 28, 2020, the NOPD arrested Wardell Claverie (pictured, DOB:9/14/99) for his involvement in an aggravated assault with a firearm incident.
On March 15, 2020, Claverie arrived at a home located in the 1600 block of River Oaks Drive. While inside of a car, he took out a handgun and pointed it at a person. He reportedly stated, “Stop playing with me. This is what you’re going to get.” Claverie proceeded to point a handgun at another person that day and threatened to kill them. He also threatened to kill a third person by phone.
Claverie was located in Jefferson Parish, and during a subsequent search of his home officers found a Smith and Wesson handgun. He was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Criminal Justice Center on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of simple assault.
