NOPD Seeking Stolen Vehicle, Suspects in First District Unarmed Carjacking

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating a vehicle reported stolen in an unarmed carjacking incident on April 8, 2019 at the intersection of South Gayoso and Palmyra streets.

At about 3:00 a.m., the victim had reportedly stopped his blue 2006 Honda Civic bearing Louisiana license 819AZM at the intersection when two unknown black males approached the victim’s vehicle. One of the subjects went to the driver’s side window and struck the victim several times through the opened window. The second subject approached and assisted in the attack. The victim then exited his vehicle, at which time both subjects entered the vehicle and drove away from location east on South Gayoso Street.

For reference purposes, a photo is included of a vehicle similar in color, year, make and model to the vehicle reported stolen in this incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
