NOPD Investigating Aggravated Assault, Shoplifting in Fifth District

The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a subject believed to be responsible for an aggravated assault and shoplifting incident that occurred on April 25, 2019 in the 2200 block of St. Claude Avenue.

At about 10:15 a.m., the pictured subject reportedly exited the Roberts Market without paying for items he had in his possession. The subject was encountered outside the store by Roberts Market employees, and the subject allegedly produced a knife. The market’s personnel feared for their safety and the subject fled with the stolen items.

The subject is described as an unknown black male with a dark complexion, standing about 5’4” to 5’5” with a slim build. He was last seen clad in a blue Domino’s Pizza jacket, black Domino’s Pizza baseball hat, blue jeans and black New Balance sneakers with white soles.
