NOPD Identifies Suspect in Theft on Morgan Street

NOPD officers are searching for Christopher Signo (DOB: 08/15/1997), who is wanted in connection with a theft incident that occurred in the 200 block of Morgan Street.

On January 4, 2019, the victim reportedly hired the pictured subject to do renovations to her residence after finding the subject on Craigslist. The victim reported that she made a partial payment for the subject to begin the repairs.

The subject reportedly went to the victim’s residence daily up until January 17, 2019 to complete the repairs. The victim, who was allegedly confined to the upper level of the residence, away from the location of the repairs, was unable to check daily to confirm that the repairs were done. The victim also reported that she was told by the above subject that the repairs were being done.

On January 17, 2019, the victim discovered that no repairs were done. The victim reported that she paid the subject in full for the repairs. However, when the subject was confronted about the work, he allegedly left the location and did not return, nor did he answer the victim’s phone calls. The victim also reported several pieces of jewelry missing. It was later discovered that the jewelry was pawned by a family member of the above subject in Jefferson Parish.

Anyone with any information that can help Fourth District detectives locate Christopher Signo should call 504-658-6040. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
