NOPD Arrests Suspect in Seventh District Business Burglary

The NOPD has arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male in connection with the burglary of a business in the 9700 block of Chef Menteur Highway in an incident that occurred on April 13, 2019.

At or about 2:00 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm being activated in the 9700 block of Chef Menteur Highway. The officers arrived at the location and observed five subjects exiting a Family Dollar store. Upon the officers observing the subjects as the subjects exited the location, the subjects fled on foot behind the business towards Grant Street. Officers was able at apprehend one of the subjects, identified as the 17-year-old juvenile, who was in possession of a suitcase filled with property stolen from the business.

The arrested subject was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center with simple burglary and Illegal possession of stolen things.
