NOPD Arrests Suspect for Possession of Stolen Firearm

The NOPD has arrested Devion Davis (DOB: 11-18-1992) after he was found on April 16, 2019 to be in possession of a handgun reported as stolen.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., NOPD Seventh District Task Force Officers conducted a proactive traffic stop at the intersection of Dwyer Road and Virgilian Street when they observed the driver of a vehicle operating on the wrong side of the road. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver – identified as Davis - stated he was operating the vehicle without a license and had a gun under his seat. Officers confiscated the above firearm and, upon investigation, NCIC verified the gun as having been reported stolen out of Jones County, Mississippi. Additionally, Davis was also found to have an active municipal attachment and court capias against him.

Davis was arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was booked accordingly.
