Suspect Wanted for Domestic Aggravated Battery, Assault on South Miro Street

The NOPD is searching for Mercedes Burnell (DOB: 04/06/92) for his involvement in a domestic aggravated battery incident that occurred in the 2600 block of South Miro Street.

The incident happened on March 31, 2018. At around 11:30 p.m., the victim was awakened by Burnell who appeared to be very angry and started arguing with the victim. The perpetrator then produced a semi-automatic handgun and struck the victim several times in the face. 

Burnell is wanted for domestic aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
