NOPD Seeking Vehicle Taken, Suspect in Armed Robbery on Pressburg Street

The NOPD is seeking the assistance of the public in locating a vehicle reported stolen during an armed robbery that occurred on April 6, 2018 in the 2600 block of Pressburg Street, as well as the suspect believed to be responsible for the incident.

The victim told police that at about 9:56 p.m., she and her passenger parked her white 2015 Volkswagen Beetle bearing Louisiana tag ZQZ336 in her driveway. Upon stepping out of her vehicle, she said, she was approached from the rear by an unknown black male attired in a dark hoodie and dark pants with dreadlock or braided shoulder-length hair. Reportedly armed with a firearm, the perpetrator demanded the victim’s keys. The victim complied, at which time the subject grabbed the second victim’s purse as she stepped out of the passenger side of the vehicle. The perpetrator fled in the vehicle southbound in the 5800 block of Lafaye Street, then unknown.

A picture is included of a vehicle similar in color, year make and model to the vehicle reported taken in this incident.
