NOPD Searches for Suspect in Aggravated Battery by Cutting Incident

Sixth District officers has obtained an arrest warrant against Michael Neveaux (DOB: 08-26-1957) for his involvement in an aggravated battery incident that happened in the 2800 block of South Liberty Street.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at or around 6:30 p.m., the victim engaged in a verbal altercation with his neighbor, who was also the suspect’s girlfriend at the time, in regards to money that she owed his wife. Neveaux later joined the argument and began yelling obscenities at the victim.

The reporting person told police the argument became heated, which caused the subject’s girlfriend to intervene. Neveaux then pushed his girlfriend out of the way and struck the victim with a knife in his abdomen. The suspect fled the scene in an eastbound direction on S. Liberty Street.

The victim was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
