NOPD Investigating Homicide on Behrman Highway

NOPD Investigating Homicide on Behrman Highway

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting this evening (April 18, 2018) in the 3500 block of Behrman Highway.

At about 9:18 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying in the loading area of a storage facility suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
