Suspect Sought in Robbery on South Carrollton Avenue

A robbery occurred at the Family Dollar store at 3612 South Carrollton Avenue on April 16, 2017. The NOPD is requesting assistance from the public in identifying and locating the person responsible.

At about 2:24 p.m., the pictured individual entered the store and asked a cashier for change for a dollar. The cashier told police that she advised the individual to wait until she could open her register. When the cashier completed a transaction with another customer and opened the register till, the individual reached into the register drawer in an attempt to take money. The cashier then closed the drawer, trapping the suspect’s hand. The cashier then bit the individual on the left arm, before the individual fled the store onto Palm Street in the direction of Leonidas Street with an unknown amount of money.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the pictured individual is asked to contact Second District detectives at 504-658-6020.
