NOPD VOWS Unit Arrests Suspect in Homicide on Alabo Street

The NOPD VOWS Unit and U.S. Marshals today (August 15, 2018) have arrested Toi Desilva (DOB: 11-30-1993) in connection with the homicide of Dawan Gibson that occurred on August 2, 2018 in the 900 block of Alabo Street.

NOPD Chief Michael Harrison and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell briefed media today on the current status of "Operation Summer Heat", an ongoing narcotics roundup in partnership with numerous area law enforcement partner agencies, as well as on the results of a summer-months enforcement effort with partner agency Louisiana State Police and on mid-year crime statistics.

NOPD. U.S. Marshals Arrest Juvenile Suspect in Shooting, Burglary Incidents in Sixth District

Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and members of the U.S. Marshals Task force today (July 6, 2018) arrested a 14-year-old juvenile male in connection with two shooting incidents and a vehicle burglary that occurred in June of 2018 in the Sixth District.

For the last six years, the COPS 4 organization has held many fundraising and community events that have enhanced the effectiveness and morale of the officers in the Fourth District, and the organization is now seeking more community support to assist in future efforts.
