The NOPD is investigating a traffic accident that left a pedestrian dead last night (September 5, 2023), in the Seventh District.
At about 10:40 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck on I-10 East bound near the Bullard Avenue exit.
Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified male in the far left lane of the interstate. The victim suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Through investigation, it was determined that the male victim had attempted to cross the interstate when he was struck by multiple vehicles.
All of the drivers of those vehicles remained on scene to assist with the investigation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
Traffic Fatality investigator Jason Naquin is charge of this ongoing investigation.
