The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred September 25, 2023, at the intersection of Old Gentilly Road and Reynes Street that left one person dead.
At about 7:25 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an unresponsive person in an apparent abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from undetermined injuries.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident was determined to be a homicide.
The vehicle involved, is described a white Chevy Impala with temporary tags and damage to the left rear door-including duct tape.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
Homicide detective James Fyfe is leading the ongoing investigation.
