The NOPD has arrested Kelvin Atkins, DOB: 06-05-1988, in connection with a shooting that left a woman dead on July 3, 2023.
The incident happened at New Orleans and North Rocheblave Streets. Fifth District officers were called to a shooting and discovered a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Johnshane Powell, died later at a local hospital.
Today, (September 29, 2023), Kelvin Atkins was arrested for second degree murder.
He is currently incarcerated on a parole violation and has been rebooked on the murder charge.
