Alternative Ways to Celebrate 38th Annual Night Out Against Crime

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Night Out Against Crime Kick-off Party has been cancelled, but the New Orleans Police Department is encouraging residents to engage in alternative ways to celebrate the 38th Annual Night Out Against Crime.

Night Out Against Crime will be observed on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This year’s motto will be “A Night to Unite”. There are a variety of ways residents can celebrate while observing masking and social distancing guidelines:

  • Hold your own individual/family style party on your residence lawn
  • Hold your own virtual party with family/neighbors
  • Create Night Out Against Crime posters to display in your yard
  • Utilize a blue porch light to show support for Night Out Against Crime

There will be no registration forms to complete, and no barricades will be provided for any of the celebrations. For those interested in having an NOPD officer drive through their celebration, please email your name and address to sylbrown@nola.gov.
