The National Police Athletic/Activities Leagues will host a virtual town hall meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 7 p.m. CT, to discuss the NOPD’s and the City of New Orleans’ response to social justice, racism, law enforcement relations, equality, community reform and much more.
The virtual town hall meeting is a part of a 12-city virtual town hall series called, "From the Voices of Youth", which is a Microsoft sponsored event that is aimed at bringing individuals, along with community change agents together to establish a collective call to action, led by community youth.
The panelists will include Superintendent Shaun Ferguson, Deputy Superintendent Otha Sandifer, NOLA PAL Officers Jerry Baldwin and Sergeant Merrell Merricks, National PAL CEO Jeff Hood, Criminal District Court Judge Ben Willard, and special appearances from Mayor Latoya Cantrell, youth from NOLA PAL and more.The discussion will be moderated by NOLA PAL Mason Horne.
National PAL is a non-profit youth organization whose mission encompasses working nationwide promoting the prevention of juvenile crime and violence by building relationships among youth, police and the community through positive engagement by providing civic, educational, athletic and recreational mentoring, and enrichment opportunities and resources to the members of National PAL.
