NOPD VOWS Unit Arrests Subject Wanted on Four Counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder

The NOPD VOWS Unit has arrested a subject wanted on four counts of attempted second degree murder.

Bernard Murray (B/M DOB: 12/29/1994) was arrested in connection with a shooting on July 25, 2018.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Bullard Avenue and the North I-10 Service Road in the Seventh District. Five individuals were riding in a vehicle and four suffered gunshot wounds.

Through the course of the investigation, Murray became a person of interest and probable cause was established for his arrest and a warrant was obtained.

Murray was apprehended on August 30, 2018 by the NOPD VOWS unit while he was at Orleans Parish Criminal District Court for an unrelated matter.

Murray faces the following charges: 

  • Four counts of attempted second degree murder
  • Two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm
  • Illegal discharge of a firearm from a vehicle
  • Obstruction of justice
