NOPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Stabbing on North Derbigny Street

The NOPD has arrested Shawn Jackson (DOB: 05-10-1987) in connection with the homicide of a 52-year-old female victim that occurred last night, September 16, 2018 in the 4100 block of North Derbigny Street.

Jackson was identified as a person of interest soon after the incident and was located in the 1600 block of France Street. He was subsequently transported to NOPD homicide unit to be interviewed. Jackson was later booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for second degree murder.

Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by cutting in the 4100 block of North Derbigny Street, at or around 11:26 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 52-year-old female victim outside of the residence next to the sidewalk, suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS via a medical doctor.  

Upon further investigation, detectives developed and positively identified Jackson as the perpetrator and obtained a warrant for his arrest for second degree murder in connection with this incident.
