Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Assault, Domestic Battery on Corsica Place

The NOPD Seventh District is seeking assistance in locating Murphy Brown (DOB: 09-29-1994) for multiple charges including aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic battery.

The incident happened on September 6, 2017.  At about 4 p.m., the victim stated she was at a relative’s house of her boyfriend in the 4900 block of Corsica Place when her boyfriend, Brown, started arguing with her. During the argument, Brown reportedly struck the victim several times in the face with a closed fist while she was inside of her vehicle. The victim then exited her vehicle and contacted her parents on her cell phone.

The victim told police Brown then took the her cell phone from her possession. After the victim’s parents arrive to the location, Brown relocated inside the residence, retrieved a handgun and fired several gunshots at the victim’s parents striking the rear door of their vehicle.

Once located, Brown will be arrested and booked with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic battery, theft of a cell phone, illegal discharge of a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property.
