NOPD Arrests Suspects in Armed Robbery on Chef Menteur Highway

NOPD officers arrested two suspects believed to be involved in an armed robbery on September 2, 2016 just hours after the incident happened in the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about noon, the victim met three unknown black males outside of a gas station in the area. Shortly afterwards, the three subjects along with the victim relocated to The Executive Apartments nearby. While the victim and three subjects were walking toward the back of the complex, the victim was met by three additional black male subjects. During that time, three of the subjects produced handguns, ordered the victim to remove his shorts and took his wallet. During the robbery, one of the subjects in the group punched the victim in the face, causing injuries to his left eye.

Shortly after the incident, NOPD officers were able to locate one of the suspects, later identified as Sebastian Polk (DOB: 02-17-1994). Polk was positively identified by the victim. Later, the victim observed another of the suspects, identified as Dale Mitchell (DOB 04-11-1995), walking in the nearby area and alerted police, who quickly arrested Mitchell.

The remaining suspects in this incident are still at large. NOPD is requesting assistance from the public in locating and identifying these individuals. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve a crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
