UPDATE: This couple has been located in good health
ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two people reported missing.
On September 3, 2016, at approximately 6 p.m., Amanda Brown (DOB 04-20-1990) and her boyfriend, Samuel Powell (DOB: 8/25/1990), were dropped off at Rock n' Bowl, located at 3016 South Carrollton Avenue, by the reporting person. The reporting person stated that she received a text message from Brown's cell phone at approximately 8 p.m. which stated that they were unable to bowl, as the venue was booked for a wedding reception. Jefferson stated that she expected Brown and Powell would walk back to Brown's residence in the 8700 block of Oleander Street. The reporting person stated that Brown and Powell never arrived, and that they have not been heard from since.
The reporting person told police that she contacted Powell's mother, who stated that she had also not heard from Powell since a similar call from Powell at about 7 p.m., when she said he told her that the couple were heading to a different location. Powell’s mother also called the police to report her son as missing.
Brown is described as a black female who was last seen wearing a black t-shirt under a blue jean vest, dark blue jeans, and black sandals, with a small black backpack or purse in her possession. Brown is also described as being diagnosed with mild mental retardation, ADHD and other mental illness. She is also described as suffering with anxiety and is taking medicine for high blood pressure.
Powell is described as a black male with short black hair with grey spots. He was last seen wearing a lime green t-shirt, black pants and black tennis shoes.
