The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred last night (October 3, 2023) in the Seventh District.
At around 6:13 p.m., officers responded to a call of a male down in the 9000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 68-year-old male who was unresponsive at the scene. The victim was declared deceased on scene, with the cause of death being unclassified.
Later, it was determined that the victim had suffered at least one stab wound.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
Homicide Detective Jameson Diesburg is leading the ongoing investigation.
