The NOPD has arrested Virgil Ordon (black male, DOB: 03-03-1997) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on October 23, 2023, in the 3200 block of Rue Parc Fontaine.

At about 2:47 p.m on the date, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a 3-year-old toddler female with a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

A subject later identified as Ordon was detained at the scene for questioning. As the investigation progressed, NOPD Homicide Section detectives determined Ordon to be responsible for the incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Ordon was arrested today (October 24) and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of negligent homicide and for being a convicted felon in illegal possession of a firearm.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will officially identify the victim and cause of death upon completion of autopsy.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
