NOPD Investigating Hit-and-Run Traffic Fatality in Third District

Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section are investigating a Hit and Run that left an unknown man dead. The offense occurred tonight, October 2, 2022, in the 2600 block of Paris Avenue.

According to investigators, shortly before 7:30 P.M., the victim was crossing the street in the 2600 block of Paris Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead.

The suspect vehicle is described as possibly a dark colored pick-up truck with tinted windows.

The investigation is ongoing. The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
