Suspect Identified in Eighth District Armed Robbery

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for William Lewis (DOB; 06-23-1984) in the investigation of an armed robbery on September 25, 2019.

On September 25, 2019 at 4:48 a.m., the victim was walking north in the 900 block of Saint Louis Street when he was

approached from the front by a black male with a nickname

of “Slim”. The subject approached the victim while holding a small

pocket knife with a 2” blade in his right hand. The subject then demanded the victim’s property, taking the victim’s wallet and currency before fleeing on Conti Street towards N. Rampart Street, then unknown.

Through investigation, NOPD Eighth District detectives positively identified Lewis as the perpetrator.
