The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating the pictured subject, who is wanted in connection with a simple robbery incident that occurred near the intersection of Canal and Camp Streets.

On October 14, 2018, at or around 12:05 p.m., the victim was walking southbound on Canal Street, when an unknown black male subject allegedly struck the victim in the upper section of his body, and removed the victims’ wallet out of his pocket. The victim reportedly ran after the perpetrator, at which time the victim observed the subject jump on a dark colored bicycle and flee the scene, heading southbound on Common Street.

The victim advised officers that someone called his phone stating that his wallet was located in the 1100 block of Girod Street. The victim reportedly recovered his wallet from the location and discovered that a large amount of cash, his driver’s license and credit card were missing from inside the wallet.

During the course of the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance video from the aforementioned location and observed the subject on the bicycle discarding the wallet.

Anyone with any information regarding the pictured subject’s whereabouts should contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
