NOPD Seeking Suspect in Aggravated Assault on Elysian Fields Avenue

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a subject believed to be responsible for an aggravated assault incident that occurred on September 27, 2018 in the 2500 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

The victim informed police that at approximately 3:19 p.m. he was assisting a customer near the front doors of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store in the 2500 block of Elysian Fields Avenue, where he is employed. While assisting the customer, he was reportedly alerted by the head cashier that the pictured suspect was attempting to shoplift a set of power tools.  The victim asked the subject for a receipt, and the suspect allegedly brushed past him. The subject then threatened the victim and fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male with a brown complexion, goatee and beard and short haircut. He is reported to be about 5’8” in height and to weigh approximately 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap turned to the front with a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.
