NOPD Makes Arrests in Investigation of Auto Theft in Seventh District

The NOPD has arrested four individuals, including two juvenile males, in the investigation of an auto theft that occurred on October 19, 2018 in the 4500 block of Francisco Verrett Drive.

Through the course of investigation, two juvenile males were identified as being responsible for the incident. Search warrants were served at two locations in the Seventh District, which led to the arrests of the two identified juvenile suspects – one a 16-year-old male and the other a 15-year-old male. As these subjects are juveniles, booking photos are not available.

During execution of the search warrants, three firearms were recovered as well as property identified as being stolen during the burglary incidents. David Shearod (pictured, DOB: 08-26-1993) and Tyrian Lebeaud (Female, DOB: 04-07-1998), were both arrested during the search warrant executions. Shearod was arrested and booked for felon in possession of a firearm and on a court capias. LeBeaud, whose photo was not available, was arrested for possession of stolen property and issued a summons for simple possession of marijuana. Both Shearod and LeBeaud were also issued misdemeanor summonses for simple possession of marijuana.

The arrested 16-year-old juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for juvenile in possession of firearm, while the arrested 15-year-old juvenile suspect was booked for juvenile in possession of firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, auto theft and auto burglary.

Detectives also learned that the arrested 16-year-old juvenile suspect was wanted out of East Baton Rouge Parish for reportedly escaping a juvenile detention facility.

Detectives are also investigating possible connections between the two arrested juveniles and additional auto theft and auto burglary incidents in both the Seventh and Third districts in recent days.

Investigation into this incident is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are expected in the near future.
