ARRESTED: NOPD Arrests Suspect in Armed Robbery in Fifth District

The NOPD has arrested Emanuel Carter (DOB: 11-20-1984) in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on August 21, 2018 at the intersection of North Robertson and Charbonnet streets in the Fifth District.

At about 3:55 p.m., Carter allegedly approved the victims while at the intersection. Once Carter was within arm’s reach of the victims, he reportedly produced a firearm and demanded the victims’ belongings. The victims complied and the perpetrator then fled the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, Fifth District detectives developed and positively identified Carter as the perpetrator of this incident. An arrest warrant was obtained for two counts of armed robbery and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

Carter, who was discovered to be incarcerated in the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a separate incident, was re-booked on the aforementioned charges

Anyone with additional information in this incident is asked to contact NOPD Fifth District Detective Chad Cockerham or any Fifth District detective at 504-658-6050.
